“I very much enjoyed the entire cruise. I think we all appreciated the quality of the cruise, the boat, the Viking Neptune, the friendly crew, the excellent food and wine and the variety of the daily excursions. My highlights included the thrilling organ recital in the delightful city of Passau and the opportunity to waltz the Blue Danube waltz in Vienna performed by the Vienna Philharmonic outside the Rathaus. Of course I also very much appreciated the chance to climb among the fabulous rock formations at Belogradshick. Here's to the next Viking River cruise!”

This picture was taken by Mr and Mrs Wilson aboard the dragon-boat ferry crossing Kunming Lake to the Summer Palace on a recent trip to China. We enjoyed reading their comments on their return:

"This was our first visit to China, and we were really impressed with the organisation of the trip throughout. Every aspect seemed to be arranged faultlessly; our guide took care of our internal flights, museum admissions, etc. without the slightest delay. The highlights of our cruise and tour are too numerous to mention individually, sufficient to say it was one of the best holiday experiences we've had. It will certainly be Viking for us in 2010!"

Stephen and Mary Graham had a very enjoyable cruise along the Danube with us in April 2009 and upon their return sent us this very atmospheric photo of the Budapest chain bridge which they took on their first night thier.

The couple said that thay "had a lovely cruise and feel this photograph would make rather a nice advertisement for Viking River Cruises"- Which it does indeed!

Mrs Jennifer Smith travelled on our ‘Treasures of the Rhine’ cruise in October last year and on her return wrote to us with some lovely comments about her cruise.

"The Viking Sun is a wonderful ship and the staff on board, particularly the waiters in the restaurant, were all delightful and really made the trip a pleasure. I travelled with my daughter and my niece and whilst they are both much younger than me, we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip."

Mr and Mrs Watterson won a bottle of Harrods Champagne and £50 Viking Travel Vouchers in our March Photo of the month competition! We enjoyed reading their email when they returned:

"Jim took this photo of me at Keukenhof Gardens during our Tulips and Windmills cruise on board Viking Spirit in 2008. This was our fifth cruise with Viking and it proved to be a very good holiday; the accommodation and cuisine being excellent as always. The itinerary was varied. We particularly enjoyed our trip to Keukenhof, an extravaganza of spring flowers. The visit to the Delta Works was very interesting. This was our first visit to the low countries and we were certainly impressed."

The winner this month features the charismatic scenery of the Danube River as captured by Alasdair and Elizabeth Campbell whilst enjoying their 'Romantic Danube' cruise from Budapest to Nuremberg. The couple said "the highlight was the visit to Melk Abbey - the 900 year old baroque abbey, perched on cliffs high above the river. On board, the food and service was first class; something we know Viking River Cruises are renowned for".

This month's 'Photo of the Month' comes from Mr and Mrs White who travelled on our 'Portraits of Southern France' cruise in October 2008. The photo features Mr and Mrs Featherstone who are "dancing late at night to the music from Bizet's Carmen whilst enjoying the view of le Pont d'Avignon by floodlight".

December's winning photo comes from Barbara Heath in Dorset and features a spectacular cityscape view of Budapest. Barbara travelled on our Romantic Danube itinerary in October and describes her trip as "truly captivating with very attentive, good-humoured staff and wonderful food".

Our first 'photo of the month' features Mr and Mrs Betts from Nottinghamshire who have recently visited China. Having had an amazing time on our 'Imperial Jewels' cruise in September they said "It was one of the best holidays we have ever experienced and look forward to travelling with Viking in the future."
